Amy Blackman – Cookman Management
Amy B was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. After completing her under and post graduate degrees at NYU and Columbia in a field of expertise that unbeknownst to her at the time would also come in handy in the music biz (Psychology and Anthropology), she headed West to do what everyone needs to do once in their life; spend a summer hanging on the beach figuring themselves out. And thus she came to realize where her passion lies- not with sand and surf, but with music. During that time, the light bulb of light bulbs occurred- how can she make a career out of the two things she loves most in the world, music and talking on the phone. Ding! Band management! She began managing bands under the tutelage of some of the greatest old schoolers around, and when her first band began to generate more action than her boss’s clients, she was (thankfully) kicked to the curb and struck out on her own. 15 years later, she has a vibrant and successful roster, a thriving business and a core philosophy that remains intact despite surging tides of change in our industry. After 5 wonderful years further honing her skills as part of the team at Tsunami Entertainment, she has now joined forces with CookmanMGMT. Her current clients are Money Mark, multi-Grammy winning Ozomatli, multi multi multi-Grammy winning Producer/Mixer/Engineer Robert Carranza, Camilo Lara and Mexican Institute of Sound.
Laura Taylor – Senior VP of Operations, Guitar Center
Laura Taylor has taken her passion for guitar playing that started at age 10 and built a career in music that continues to flourish. Through Chicago and Hollywood, Columbia College and Musician’s Institute, the last 23 years of this ongoing journey has Taylor making her mark in a successful career with Guitar Center. Beginning as a receptionist in the 12-store chain, Laura Taylor has risen through the ranks to manage a team of over 1,100 people in 221 locations as Senior Vice President of Operations. Responsible for building the operations and training systems during Guitar Center’s most rapid growth, Taylor continues to develop the services division including GC Studios for lessons and rehearsals, GC Garage for repairs, and GC Backline for rentals. Currently taking on even more responsibility, Laura Taylor heads up the Guitar Center Women in Music initiative, making the stores a better place for women to work and shop, which aligns with her ongoing commitment to encourage and inspire women to play music.

Carol Peters – Peters Mgmt.
After 2 decades working at record labels, in marketing, promotion and distribution, and another decade at one of the music industry's largest management companies, representing many great artists including The Bee Gees, John Mellencamp, the Go-Go’s and Heart, I decided to start a personal management company founded on the business principles I believe to be most critical to success and professional happiness. Namely: All projects need creative and conscientious set-up and follow through, Marketing plans are more than words on paper; they are plans of action, It is better for creatives to follow their hearts than follow the trends, There are many ways to find an audience: live touring, social networking, radio, retail, CD, print, TV, film, advertising, sponsorship/lifestyle associations, internet, street teams, fan clubs, and more. Real talents deserve the opportunity to flex and grow their artistry in different ways. Peters Management Syndicate currently represents Heart, Deana Carter, Sick of Sarah, Vikki Carr, and Seventh Day Slumber.
