Rock the Tradition Music Compilation Contest
Two girls from the youngwave band ShiSho are kicking off a big NATIONAL youngwave (artists and bands with members 18 or under years old) fundraiser CD project for the All American Soap Box Derby that is located in their hometown of Akron, Ohio. The soap box derby is in danger because they are hurting for money.
They started a contest TODAY to take song submission from other youngwave bands to write and record something about the Soap Box Derby or competition or the spirit of tradition. The winners will be included in the ROCK THE TRADITION music compilation. The deadline for contest submissions is May 21 to get the CD done by July. All sales of the CDs will go directly to the Soap Box Derby.
The record label that they started in 2007 is Magnetic Bunny Arts. They put out a youngwave compilation called "The Seaside Summer Compilation" to raise money for Callum Robbins who is Jay Robbins, from Channels' son. The site got hacked with porn and they had to sadly shut down the project. So they are just starting Magnetic Bunny back up again for the Soap Box Derby.
Here's a 1/2 hour TV Show about ShiSho that will air Thursday on the ION TV Network in Akron and Cleveland, Ohio - The first part focuses on how they as girls benefit from being in a rock band. The second focuses on their Rock the Tradition Music Compilation Contest.
